Library Manners:
- Upon entry into the library, all students are requested to walk to their seats;
- lndoor voices and whispers are welcomed in the library;
- To keep the books, tables and chairs clean, food and beverages are asked to be left in the classroom;
- When books are taken from the shelves and not checked out, kindly leave them on the table. I will put them back, inshaAllah.
Book Borrowing and Returns:
- Students from J.K. to Grade 1 may check out 1 book for a 1 week period;
- Students from Grade 2 may check out up to 2 books for a 1 week period;
- Students from Grade 3 to Grade 8 may check out up to 3 books for a 1 week period;
- All books are to be returned on their due dates;
- Books can be renewed 3 times unless it has been requested;
- Students are not required to wait until their next library period to renew their books. They can come to the library anytime with the teacher’s permission;
- Upon renewal, books must be brought to the circulation desk, otherwise, it will be viewed as being forgotten.
Overdue, Lost or Damaged Material:
- A 15 cent fine per book per day will apply to the Grade 3 to Grade 8 students;
- If a student fails to return his/her book(s) on time, he/she will not be able to checkout material until the book(s) is/are returned.
- If a book is lost or damaged beyond repair, the student is required to pay the full amount of the book plus $4.00 processing fee;
- If a book is damaged (ripped or dirtied page(s), book body is separated from book cover,…) a Damage Fee of $5.00 will be applied to the student’s account;
- Books are to be carried in book bags (provided for you by the library) to and from school.
Book Reservations:
- All book reservations are done online via the school library web site.
Items that Can and Cannot Circulate:
- Picture Books: 1 week (renewable);
- Chapter Books: 1 week (renewable);
- Novels: 1 week (renewable);
- Reference Books: No checkout*;
- DVDs, CDs…: No checkout (for teachers only)
*Checkout is available for research purposes
